Karting Championship | Round Six Race Report
Another solid entry of 20 arrived for round 6 of the championship. The drivers were split for qualifying before contesting both their races as an all-in group.
The first qualifying session was headed up by newcomer Charlie Bowberry and was consistently hitting the 74 second mark. He finished 3 tenths fastest with a 74.062 followed by Manj Patti on a 74.433 and Stanislaw in 3rd with a 74.500.
The second group consisted of all the main contenders and as if the norm Has Khalid and Adam Blair topped proceedings. Has putting in a fine effort to qualifying fastest overall putting him at the rear of the field with a 72.702, Adam came 2nd with a 73.166 and Elia Evagora 3rd with a 73.432.
Onto race 1 and Has made a lightning start managing to overhaul both Adam and Elia in the first lap. But his further efforts got hampered by traffic and Adam made steady progress through the field to take the lead on lap 13 and finish 3 seconds ahead of Luca Martella and Anthony Ballanger coming home in 3rd.
The grid got reversed for the 2nd race after Elia had a large crash in race 1 he started on pole for race 2 and ran away with a pole to flag victory a full 7 seconds ahead of 2nd place. James Cripps who also had a poor race 1 came home in 2nd place after starting 3rd and Daryl Palmer completing the top 3.
