Karters approaching the chequered flag

Karting Championship | Round Eight Race Report

This would be the last round in the original fleet of karts before the new ones arrived for round 9.

A cold and slippery track greeted the drivers and Adam Blair made the most of the conditions to set a pole lap of 73.086 almost a full second ahead of Elia Evagora in 2nd place and Zsolt Endredy rounding out the top 3 with a positive performance.

Race 1 headed out on the reversed track and as is now the pattern Adam Blair made steady progress through the field to take the lead on lap 9 off Joao Regis and pulled away to win by 10 seconds. Joao held onto 2nd place by an unusually large margin from Has Khalid and Elia Evagora who seemed more intent in using the karts as battering rams rather than racing which hampered their efforts somewhat.

Race 2 was run on the normal circuit and Hs this time took advantage of his higher grid spot to take an easy lead on lap 4 and pull away to win by 7 seconds. Luke Winter had his personal best result to date finished in 2nd place and Hugo Marques also making the most of his grid spot coming home in 3rd just holding off the advances of Anthony Ballanger and Elia Evagora.
